Information Overview

The Port of Keflavik is the logical choice for stopovers in Iceland. Strategically located at Iceland's southwestern corner close to the country's main centre of population, the Keflavik is home to Iceland’s International Airport and an easy 45-minute drive from Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital city. Within easy reach of many of Iceland's most popular natural attractions, Keflavik offers a well-developed tourism, transport and communications infrastructure.

PORT OF KEFLAVIK

Located only 5km from Keflavik International Airport, the Port of Keflavik offers a comprehensive range of harbour and supply facilities for vessels of most sizes. Recently expanded and extensively redeveloped, the port area now centers on a 165m long main quay, with a depth of 7-13m. Capable of handling vessels up to 150m long, it is protected by a new breakwater and incorporates a wharf area for container storage. A new floating service pontoon will complete the final phase of the project, providing excellent landing facilities for passengers.

THE GROF MARINA

THE GRÓF MARINA has floating docks with space for up to 82 smaller boats. In the Grofin marina a number of tourist activities take place, including sailing trips, sea angling and whale watching. The famous DUUS Café only a few meters above the dock offers excellent view over the Marina and surrounding area.

PORT OF HELGUVIK

Helguvik being the most recently developed harbour in Reykjanes, provides excellent facilities for some of the biggest vessels sailing the North Atlantic. With ample industrial sites in the area close to the harbour, there are excellent opportunities for fast growing import or export firms wishing to expand in a new, well planned industrial area with ready access to the geothermal power on which the Reykjanes region stands. In addition, tax-free industrial zone has been planned at Helguvik, only 4km from Keflavik and Keflavik International Airport.

Helguvik is also the main oil supply and distribution harbour of Reykjanes, and now offers improved services for industrial freighters and oil vessels. The port of Helguvik easily accommodates ships up to 200m long with a draft of 10m at a 150m long quay with a generous wharf area behind it.

NJARDVIK FISHING HARBOUR

Njardvik is one of the regions leading fishing harbours, with the Reykjanes Fish Market only few yards away, and good wharf area. Virtually on the quay side, and there is an ice factory delivering ice to fishing boats at the quay side, and to other destinations in Reykjanes. In the wharf area there are cooling freezing-stores and a good storage area for containers. The Nardvik Shipyard is close by and other service oriented industries or the shipping fleet. The longest quay at Njardvik harbour stretches up to 130m with a draft of 7.5 to 9m.
